All volunteers who work with minors (defined by students & children under the age of 18) are required to pass a background check, along with reading the DC Child & Youth Shared Protection Policy.

Step 1.

  • Read the “Child & Youth Shared Policy Document”

Step 2.

  • If you’re volunteering in Children’s Ministry read the “Children’s Ministry Policy”

  • If you’re volunteering in Youth Ministry read the “Youth Ministry Policy”

  • If you’re a shepherd, staff member, or volunteering in both Children’s AND Youth Ministry, read both the Children’s & Youth Ministry Policy.

Step 3.

Sign up and complete the comprehensive background check through our partner, Ministry Opportunities.

Step 4.

After you’ve completed the first 3 steps, fill out the Acknowledgment of Receipt form and turn it into the Children’s Ministers or Youth Ministers.
