All volunteers who work with minors (defined by students & children under the age of 18) are required to pass a background check, along with reading the DC Child & Youth Shared Protection Policy.

Step 1.

  • Read the “Child & Youth Shared Policy Document”

Step 2.

  • If you’re volunteering in Children’s Ministry read the “Children’s Ministry Policy”

  • If you’re volunteering in Youth Ministry read the “Youth Ministry Policy”

  • If you’re a shepherd, staff member, or volunteering in both Children’s AND Youth Ministry, read both the Children’s & Youth Ministry Policy.

Step 3.

Submit and renew a criminal background check once every five years while volunteering at Downtown Church.

Step 4.

Sign the Acknowledgement of Receipt Form indicating an understanding of and agreement to adhere to our policies.  This form can be returned to the Children’s or Youth Ministers and must be renewed at least once every three years.
