Small groupsThe Purpose of Small Groups

The purpose of our small group ministry is to help us experience transformed lives in community. Whether you are just now becoming interested in God, or have walked with him for many years, a small group will be a powerful resource in your quest to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus.

It's pretty simple. A small group of people, usually no more than fifteen to twenty adults, gather in homes throughout the area. Most meet on Sundays, but several meet throughout the week. Some groups meet in the evening; some earlier in the day. Some share a meal together; some chose not to do so. Some have children present all or part of the time; others do not. Besides fellowship, praying and encouraging one another, most groups have a discussion/sharing time based on the day's lesson or may choose a topic of benefit for the particular small group.

Several small groups are needs-based, such as those associated with Authentic Marriage Divorce Care or Financial Peace. Still others have a unique design to meet the needs of that particular small group. Our DC small groups share a conviction that there is more God wants to do in – and through - us, and that His work is enhanced when we are in a small group of people who share a desire for transformation.

Can I start a new group?

Absolutely. In fact, we are always looking for new small groups to come together. Small groups can and do form at many times during the year. You may begin a new small group at any time, and we'll be glad to help you do that. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
