Small Group Ministry

Most of us aren’t really interested in being part of something that is just another item to cross off a list of weekly church activities.

We’re looking for something that will make a difference in our lives.  We want to be a part of something that matters and that has significance.  We want something that will impact us in God-honoring ways.

The purpose of our small group ministry is to help us experience transformed lives.  Whether you are just now becoming interested in God, or have walked with him for maSmall Groups logony years, a small group will be a powerful resource in your quest to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus.

How does it work?
It’s pretty simple.  A small group of people, usually no more than fifteen to twenty adults , gather in homes throughout the area.  Most meet on Sundays.  Some groups meet in the evening; some earlier in the day.  Some share a meal together; some chose not to do so.  Some have children present all or part of the time; others do not.  Besides praying and encouraging one another, most groups have a discussion based on a passage from the Bible.  Beginning this fall, we will offer discussion guides that will help us make real life application of the Sunday morning sermon.

Other small groups are needs-based, such as those associated with Celebrate Recovery or Dynamic Marriages.  Still others have a unique design to meet the needs of that particular group.  But all groups share a conviction that there is more God wants to do in us, and that his work is enhanced when we are in a small group of people who share a desire for transformation.

What about childcare?

How do I join a group?

There are a couple of ways.

Perhaps the best way is to talk to other people.  Find out who is in a small group and what they are doing.  Perhaps you can visit with them and see if the group would be a good fit.

Another way is to see what groups are available.  This link will give you a list of groups that are open to new members.

If you need more assistant, email or call 268-5383.  We want you to be in a group as much or maybe even more than you want to be in a group, so we will do everything we can to help you find one that is right for you.

Can I start a new group?

Absolutely.  In fact, we are always looking for new groups to come together.  There is no set time of the year, either.  You can begin a new group at any time. We will be glad to help you do that.  Contact Tim Curtis if you would like to discuss how you can begin a new group.
