Men's Ministry
The men’s ministry committee adopted a mission statement to establish direction that will best meet the spiritual needs of the men in the Downtown Church and the community. The committee decided to take our mission statement from Luke 1:17 ”...to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous— to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” . This statement was made by an angel of the Lord appearing to Zechariah before John the Baptist was born. Talking about John, the angel said “Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, …” (Luke 1:16-17) The vision of the committee for the men in this church is similar. In our families, the church, our jobs, and the community, we should “make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (Luke 1:17)
Groups
FREEDOM GROUPS—Men Freedom Groups are Christ-based support groups for people wanting freedom from being sexually driven. While every man has different sexual compulsive behaviors, the commonality that we all share is that our sexual compulsive behaviors have become unmanageable and have caused severe stress to ourselves and our families.
